In 2010, 4 out of 5 movies nominated for Best Visual Effects, were also in the Top 10 highest grossing movies worldwide... respect? Nope.

3 Years Later... Visual Effects make up The Highest Grossing Movies Of All Time.  I think there might be a pattern here... VFX dominate & damn near monopolize top box office efforts.  

The other pattern... No Respect.
